Cubita Producciones announces the availability of Manolín "El Médico de la Salsa" for Cuban-salsa and timba festivals across Europe during May and June 2026. One of the voices that defined the sound of 1990s timba returns to the continent with a full live-band show, built for venues with a dancing crowd and audiences who love Cuban music performed live.
After roughly twenty years living outside Cuba, Manolín made a much-anticipated comeback to the island in 2024 with a new album, "La Calentura", and a band of young musicians he affectionately calls "los chamacos". That return confirmed that his energy on stage is undimmed and that his repertoire connects with new generations as much as with those who have danced to him for decades.
A key figure of timba
Manuel González Hernández, known worldwide as Manolín "El Médico de la Salsa", was discovered by José Luis "El Tosco" Cortés, leader of NG La Banda, who gave him the nickname that has stayed with him ever since. His name is inseparable from the explosion of Cuban timba in the 1990s, a style that blends salsa, son, jazz and funk into an unmistakable, dance-driven identity.
A full live band, no playback
Manolín always performs with a full live band and no playback: a horn section, classic Cuban percussion (timbales, congas and bongó), piano and bass. The result is a concert with the power and groove of real timba, ideal for filling a dance floor and for offering bookers a show that fully earns its ticket.
Availability and booking
The artist is available for Europe between May and June 2026 through Cubita Producciones. He is an especially strong fit for Cuban-salsa festivals in Spain, Italy, France, the Netherlands and Germany, for theatres and mid-size venues (between 1,000 and 2,500 capacity) and for cultural events with a resident Cuban or Latin audience.
