Manolín "El Médico de la Salsa"

Manolín "El Médico de la Salsa" (Manuel González Hernández) is one of the key figures of Cuban timba. He was a medical student when José Luis "El Tosco" Cortés, leader of NG La Banda, discovered him and gave him his stage name. His discography includes "Para mi gente" (1995), "De buena fe" (1997), "Jaque mate" (1998) and "Giro total" (2003). After nearly 20 years outside Cuba he returned in 2024 with "La Calentura", surrounded by a new generation of musicians. He remains one of the most reliable names for programming live Cuban salsa in Europe.
